While Samsung is about to introduce a new Galaxy Tab with a stunning 2560×1600 display in February, Apple plans to release a tablet launch in February of next year. The Apple Inc.’s next-generation tablet is dubbed iPad 3. According to a Citi analyst named Richard Gardner, the newest tablet “will boast a Retina display double the resolution of Apple’s most recent model, the iPad 2 and Siri”. Apple fans also think that the technology giant has planned to launch iPad 3 in February to coincide with the birthday of its late co-founder Steve Jobs on 24 February.
Reportedly, the upcoming iPad 3 will be 0.7mm thicker than Apple’s current iPad devices as it is required to accommodate dual-light bars needed for a higher-resolution display. A thicker iPad would mean Apple is powered with a number of specs into the device, which could include Retina Display and Dual LED backlight, a better camera, quad-core processor and etc.
Retina Display and Dual LED Backlight
Apple needs new LED backlight solutions as the next-generation iPad has a higher resolution than the present 2048×1536 to maintain the same brightness of the display. Rumors fly that Apple integrates two different LED backlights – each one on each face of the screen of iPad 3. Furthermore, the screen resolution enhancement which has been applied on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S may improve the iPad’s graphics to super sharp and ultra clear levels.

Quad-core Processor
While iPad 2′s dual-core A5 chip makes it “do twice the work at once” which provides high performance and power efficiency, iPad 3 might be powered by a quad-core processor which makes the new iPad incredibly powerful and creates more intensive and impressive games and applications

Quad-core Processor
Siri

Siri, which is the intelligent personal voice assistant from Apple and one of the most notable features of iPhone 4S, will also be featured on iPad 3
Better Camera

iPad fans expect that iPad 3 will come along with 2MP for front-facing camera and at least 5MP for the rear one
4G LTE Compatibility

4G LTE is set to come to iPhone 5 due to Qualcomm’s next generation mobile device modem (MDM) chips. As the chips are staled to available in the first quarter of 2012, means iPad 3 could well be incorporating it
